GMA Network reigns in Urban Luzon and Mega Manila ratings for June 2019

  • This June was counted as their third month of announcing their win in Urban Luzon

GMA Network continues to be the top choice of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila viewers last June according to the latest data gathered by the ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. Last April and May, the network also won in Urban Luzon ratings.

From June 1 to June 29 (June 23 until June 29 were based on its overnight data), GMA garnered an average total day people audience share of 35.3 percent defeating the 30.7 percent rating of ABS-CBN in Urban Luzon. Urban Luzon holds 72 percent of the population of the country’s urban TV viewers.

The Kapuso network was also hailed victorious in the afternoon block having an audience share of 36.3 percent, winning over the 32.9 percent of its rival network.

For the most viewed program on the evening block, GMA Network registered a score of 38.1 percent defeating its rival ABS-CBN which only got 30 percent.

Topping the list of top-ratings programs in Urban Luzon for the month of June are the Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS), Sahaya, Kara Mia, 24 Oras, Daddy’s Gurl, Magpakailanman, StarStruck, Pepito Manaloto, Love You Two, and Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko.

Also on the top programs list are Eat Bulaga, Studio 7, Kapuso Movie Night, Imbestigador, Amazing Earth, Bihag, Wowowin, and Bubble Gang.

GMA Network also reigned in Mega Manila, which comprises the 60 percent of urban viewers of the country.

Based on the official data from June 1 to June 22, GMA Network recorded an average total day people audience share of 36.3 percent higher than the 28.8 percent of ABS-CBN.

In the list of the top-rating programs in Mega Manila, GMA Network claimed 21 shows out of the top 30.

The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement holds a total of 32 clients/subscribers which comprises
of six local TV networks including ABS-CBN, TV5, Aksyon TV, and CNN Philippines; 3 regional clients; 2 blocktimers; and 21 agencies (17 media agencies, 3 consulting agencies, and 1 digital agency).

In the past, GMA Network used to release NUTAM ratings. For many years, the Kapuso network relied on AGB Nielsen NUTAM measurement to boast of their number 1 status. But as of April, GMA Network switched to Urban Luzon making their claim to the number 1 spot only applicable to this specific geographical location.

June served as their third month of announcing their win in Urban Luzon.
