Michael V couldn’t his happiness and appreciation for ABS-CBN Executives supporting his first-ever directorial film, Family History.
Radio Inquirer warmly welcomed the ace comedian and his wife Carol to the show last July 20, 2019.
There, the comedian-actor-director was given a phone-patch tribute surprise by Malou Santos whom he first thought was Malou Fagar.
Malou Santos is the Chief Operating Officer of Star Creatives, the studio that has produced box-office hit films. Malou Fagar, on the other hand, is an executive of TAPE Inc.
Malou wished him luck and promised to watch and support Bitoy’s film.
“Bilog ang mundo. Malay mo, makapagtrabaho tayo soon,” she stated.
“Let this film serve as my business card and open doors,” Michael V replied.
The actor-director also wants to inspire his target audience and at the same time to get the attention of curious moviegoers.
He said, “Itong project na ito, hindi ko naman ginawa para matuwa ako, kundi para matuwa yung kilala kong audience ko.
“And at the same time, makakuha pa ng bagong audience, ma-curious, makita nila, ‘tapos ma-appreciate nila at magustuhan.
“Makadagdag doon sa following natin and eventually, maging daan para makagawa pa tayo ng future projects.”
Family History will hit cinemas on July 24, nationwide. The film is about a family and the challenges they are about to face that will test as to how long they can keep their relationship with one another intact.
Another local film, Hello, Love, Goodbye starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards will premiere in Philippine cinemas on July 31.
Since both films are set for release in July, Michael V’s Family History will be competing against KathDen’s Hello, Love, Goodbye.
Will Michael V’s film surpass KathDen movie in the box-office?
Aside from the Kapamilya bosses, Joross Gamboa, Rufa Mae Quinto, Ogie Alcasid, and other stars both from GMA and ABS-CBN Network have previously expressed their support for the upcoming film.
The official full trailer of the film has already reached 124,000 views as of this writing.
As part of the promotion of the film, Michael V guests as the MYX Celebrity VJ for the whole month of July.
