The ABS-CBN Ball is one of the most-awaited events not just by celebrities, but also by fans who are excited to see what their idols will be wearing and who they will be going with.
Here are some pairings we’d like to see at the ball this year:
Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza
It was in 2018 when the two celebrities admitted that they were dating. Despite the bashing they have received the netizens, the two seem to have shrugged off the negativity to enjoy their blossoming relationship. Coming from two different networks, will Maine Mendoza be Arjo Atayde’s date to the upcoming ABS-CBN Ball?
Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson
Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson would be the most controversial pair considering the amount of attention that they have been receiving in the wake of Gerald’s breakup with Bea Alonzo. Gerald and Julia co-starred in the film Between Maybes which was shown last May. Since both of them have parted ways with their former flames, will Gerald and Julia be together at the ABS-CBN Ball?
Angel Locsin and Neil Arce
The General’s Daughter star Angel Locsin and her now fiancée Producer Neil Arce first attended the ABS-CBN Ball together last year, but it was only Angel who walked the red carpet. This year, will Neil be joining Angel on the red carpet?
Karla Estrada and Macky Makay
The news that Karla Estrada has gotten herself a new sweetheart has been making the rounds lately. Named as “Macky Makay,” netizens think that the guy is a lot younger than the singer-actress-host. However, many support the new love of Momshie Karla and wish for her true happiness in the arms of Macky. Will he escort the Magandang Buhay host at the 2019 ABS-CBN Ball?
Cathy Garcia-Molina and Alden Richards
After their successful box-office hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, for sure fans wants to see the KathDen tandem together again. But this might not be happening since Kathryn Bernardo is with her boyfriend Daniel Padilla. But with direk Cathy Garcia-Molina in the picture, will she attend the ball with Alden? Seeing Alden attend an ABS-CBN event, however, may be too much to hope for.
Morissette Amon and Dave Lamar
Asia’s Phoenix Morissette Amon graced the red carpet alone last year. But will we see her with rumored boyfriend Dave Lamar at the upcoming ball? Morissette’s love life is the current hot topic on social media after her father’s rants accusing her of allegedly turning her back on her family to be with her ‘bad influence’ boyfriend.
Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador
The Killer Bride stars Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador would make a great looking pair on the red carpet. Last year, Joshua attended with former girlfriend Julia Barretto, while Janella went solo. For sure, JoshNella fanatics are excited for the new love tandem’s first red carpet walk.
Robi Domingo and new girlfriend Maiqui Pineda
Robi Domingo walked the red carpet alone last year. This time, will he be bringing new girlfriend Maiqui Pineda? Robi’s relationship with Maiqui has been known to public since August of 2018. And based on their photos online, the host has found a new love that he believes is ‘authentic and genuine.’
Maja Salvador and Rambo Nunez
Maja Salvador walked solo on the red carpet of ABS-CBN Ball last year. Now that she got back with boyfriend Rambo, will they attend the ball together?
Aside from these artists, another obvious change in the setting of the ball is its theme. Compared to last year’s usual black and white-themed attire, the 2019 ABS-CBN Ball will have a Filipiniana dress code.
The ball will happen on September 14, 2019, at Shangri-La The Fort with the aim to help provide for less fortunate children to reach their dreams through the Bantay Bata 163 Bantay Edukasyon Program.
The ball will also honor Regina Paz “Gina” Lopez, the chairperson of ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. (AFI), and the founder of Bantay Bata 163. Her children’s welfare advocate program has saved thousands of physically and sexually abused children and provided them a shelter that they need, away from harm at the Children’s Village in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Aside from this, she was also a former Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary.
She died last August 19, 2019 at the age of 65 due to brain cancer.
