  • The Clash is back on GMA Network

The all-original Filipino reality singing competition, The Clash, is finally back.

While the target airing date has yet to be announced, auditions for the new season are already done. From the list of qualified auditionees, the top 64 contestants who will “clash” for the title will already be selected.

In the upcoming season, many twists will happen to add spice to the show. One of these twists is the automatic inclusion of the 12 weekly winners of Studio 7’s Duet With Me in the Top 64 Clashers.

During the auditions, the possible contestants were critically evaluated. On the meticulous screening panel are UP College of Music Professor and Concert Chorus Directress and The Clash voice coach, Janet “Jai” Sabas-Aracama, Director Bert De Leon, and South Border lead performer Jay Durias.

Aside from the twists in the upcoming program, the Clash Masters and backstage hosts are new, too. As to who they are is what viewers must find out themselves as no official announcement has been made.

Meanwhile, The Clash Season 1 panel Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas, Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, and Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha will still be the judges of the show.

The Clash is an original Pinoy singing competition broadcast by GMA Network. Its format is one versus everyone in which the last clasher standing wins. The first season began airing on July 7, 2018. It was hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. However, the singer-actress transferred to the rival network, making it impossible for her to host The Clash again.

The first season concluded on October 7, 2018 with the youngest finalist Golden Cañedo declared as the first The Clash Grand Winner.

After her momentous win, the young singer immediately became a recording artist of GMA Network. She also appeared on the weekly anthology Magpakailanman as herself in the story of her life before becoming the first The Clash winner.

In December 2018, it was reported that Golden was already preparing for her upcoming album. No further details have been disclosed yet.

She shared the stage with Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose and Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista during the first leg of ‘The Sweetheart and The Balladeer: Fun Night Only that was held in Iloilo last January 27, 2019.

As of the moment, the fast-rising Kapuso singer is part of the variety show Studio 7 which is aired every Sunday.
