GMA Telebabad switches timeslot with the arrival of ‘The Killer Bride’

  • A change is happening over at GMA Network
  • GMA Network believes in NUTAM data for their daily source of ratings

GMA Network is doing better than a few months ago in terms of ratings with Onanay then Sahaya in the second slot on prime time. While the aforementioned shows are putting up a fight, they rarely win in the ratings game.

With the entry of The Better Woman last July 1, Sahaya was placed in an earlier timeslot. Since then, GMA Telebabad was placed in a horrible situation, giving ABS-CBN Primetime Bida no challenge at all.

Since The Better Woman‘s theme is obviously for adults, the show is limiting its viewers, thus pulling down its pre and post programming. Despite all the efforts to promote their shows through regional shows and a series of media-cons for more than a month, GMA Telebabad has suffered from low ratings, very far from its rival shows on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.

It just means that even their solid viewers weren’t buying their latest offerings.

Maja Salvador’s The Killer Bride started with an impressive pilot, registering high in TV ratings. The show’s consistently winning over Love You Two even in NUTAM, making Primetime Bida maintain its double-digit rating, especially in its first three shows.

So it was not a surprise when GMA Network announced another reshuffle to address the downward trend in terms of ratings of GMA Telebabad shows.

On GMA Drama’s verified Twitter account, it announced, “The switch is happening! Handa na ba kayo sa bagong GMA Telebabad, mga Kapuso?”

GMA Drama announced that there will be a switch between their two primetime shows. The Better Woman starring Derek Ramsay and Andrea Torres will be placed in a late timeslot while Jennylyn Mercado and Gabby Concepcion’s Love You Two will go after Sahaya.

We’ll see in the coming weeks if this will be a better move for the network. Will there be changes – better or worse?
