Controversies surrounding ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal didn’t affect these former Kapuso stars from jumping ship to join (and in some cases, rejoin) the Kapamilya network.
While there were threats that ABS-CBN’s franchise might not be renewed until its license expires in March 2020, some of these former GMA network stars still proceed with their network switch.
1. Valerie Concepcion – a known freelancer, Valerie has been switching networks for quite some time. But this year Valerie again chose to join ABS-CBN via Kadenang Ginto. Valerie joined ABS-CBN hit afternoon teleserye last March 2019
Prior to her transfer, Valerie was part of successful Kapuso afternoon drama Ika-5 Na Utos.

2. Matt Evans – a former Kapamilya, Matt Evans left his home network to transfer to GMA Network in 2017.
At GMA Network, Evans was busy doing several teleseryes and guestings in different Kapuso shows.
Some of the shows that he worked on at the Kapuso network included Sherlock Jr, The Cure, My Special Tatay, and Pepito Manaloto.
But last April 2019, Evans surprised many with his Instagram post saying he is back to his “Home Sweet Home” attaching a photo of the ABS-CBN logo.

3. Addy Raj – Another product of ABS-CBN via the reality talent show I Love OPM, Raj joined GMA Network in 2016. His first acting role was via the teledrama Meant To Be where he played one of Barbie Forteza’s leading men.
After Meant To Be he appeared in different Kapuso shows like Dear Uge, Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko, Super Ma’am, Sirkus, Kapag Nahati Ang Puso, and Maynila.
But after his contract with GMA Artist has expired this July 2019, Raj immediately grabbed the opportunity to work with ABS-CBN. His first acting role with the Kapamilya network was via a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode which featured Shaina Magdayao in the story of an OFW who was molested in Saudi but fought and won the case against her molesters.
4. Rafael Rosell – a former Kapamilya for 12 years, Rafael parted ways with the Kapamilya network in 2012.
In GMA Network, Rafael first worked for teledramas Aso ni San Roque and Temptation of Wife.
He was also given leading roles in Kapuso shows such as Maghihintay Pa Rin, The Borrowed Wife, Second Chances, Because of You, Sinungaling Mong Puso, and Impostora. His last project was the afternoon drama Dragon Lady.
But after spending seven years in GMA network, Rosell decided to go back to his original home.
