- Nadine Lustre refused to be paired with Daniel Padilla
- She agreed with Kathryn Bernardo on not switching love team partners
- Kathryn also declined a possible pairing with James Reid
Nadine Lustre refused to be paired up with Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo’s on-screen and real-life partner to avoid trouble between their respective fandoms.
The actress who is also the real-life girlfriend of her on-screen partner James Reid, agreed with Kathryn on not switching leading men.
Their respective love teams known as JaDine and KathNiel are among the most popular love team nowadays with legions of fans.
In the August 5 episode of the late-night talk show Tonight with Boy Abunda, Nadine played a similar challenge that Kathryn did by saying yes (“Indak,” after the title of her latest film) or no (“tadyak”) to certain Kapamilya actors as her possible next leading man.
Nadine answered “Indak” on her possible pair up with Piolo Pascual, Coco Martin, and Enrique Gil but she opted to say “tadyak” for actors Joshua Garcia and Gerald Anderson. She explained that Joshua was too young for her while she declined to give her reason for not choosing Gerald.
She then paused for a while when Daniel’s photo came up until Boy Abunda mentioned that Kathryn refused to be paired with James during her recent guesting at the show. Nadine then agreed to this idea and decided to give “tadyak” for Daniel.
“Yeah, I respect that. Tadyak na lang. Para nga walang gulo. I respect,” she said.
Kathryn was earlier asked about her possible next leading man by saying “Hello” for the actor she wished to work with and “Goodbye” to those she’d rather not. Kathryn said “Goodbye” for James, stating that she does not want any trouble.
James was asked for his reaction to this in an interview during the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s pay your taxes awareness event.
“I have no reactions,” he said with a big smile.
Some netizens are looking forward to a team-up project with Kathryn and James after they have noticed that two had chemistry in a fan-made short film made last year.
Despite being put in constant comparison, Nadine and Kathryn denied that there is a competition going on between them and agreed on their possible collaboration in a project.
Nadine’s dance musical movie with Sam Concepcion Indak premiered on August 7. Meanwhile, Kathryn’s movie with Alden Richards Hello, Love, Goodbye has been dominating the box office since its release last July 31.
