1. Jeric Gonzales

Jeric Gonzales revealed that he tried to audition for the lead role of Destiny Rose which was then made famous by Ken Chan in 2015. Jeric then played the role of Vince, the best friend of Ken’s character in the series.

He narrated:”I’m so close doon na makuha kasi kami ni Ken Chan, ‘yung napunta sa finals. Pero I’m so big daw, big boned, and kung magba-babae ako parang hindi sexy tingnan. Though yung mukha ko okay na okay bilang babae.”

This made the actor realize that he should give his best during auditions.

“Natutunan ko dun na siyempre ibigay mo pa rin yung best mo dun sa audition kasi, like ‘yun, hindi ako natanggap na Destiny Rose pero naging best friend niya ako doon.”

2. Martin del Rosario

Martin del Rosario reminisced about his failed audition for a commercial.

“Commercial yan, usually kasi VTR di ba. Nakalimutan ko yung product, pero kailangan big yung eyes, so hindi kasi maliit yung mata ko.”

Though he was unsuccessful, the actor said that it was memorable for him.

3. Julie Anne San Jose

Asia’s Pop Diva Julie Anne San Jose dreamed of becoming the next Miss Saigon. Unfortunately, she was not able to fulfill it after she fell sick.

“I did audition for Miss Saigon, pero hindi ako nakapunta kasi bigla ako nagkasakit so ‘yung medyo sayang,” she narrated.

4. Barbie Forteza

Barbie Forteza tried out her luck in auditioning for the young Marimar in the past, but she did not pursue it due to her fear of dogs.

“‘Pag nag-aaudition ka alamin mo ‘yung mga requirements. Dapat pala kasi may best friend siyang aso, e, takot ako nun aso noon (giggles).”

5. Joyce Ching

Joyce Ching aspired to be one of the young Sang’gres in the Encantadia series. She realized that she should not be defeated by shyness during auditions.

“Nag-audition ako bilang isa sa mga young Sang’gre nila Miss Sunshine Dizon. Huwag mahiya, kasi ‘yun talaga yung second audition sa buong buhay ko. Tapos wala talaga, hindi ko alam kung marunong ako umarte or what.”

Sef Cadayona regretted his failed audition for a commercial in the past.

“This was one commercial that I really, really like sa fast food. Unfortunately, hindi ko nakuha,” Sef shared.

But he learned that failures and disappointments will lead to better situations.

“Huwag ka ma-overwhelm sa disappointment, it means something bigger or something else will happen to you, just go with the flow.”

Jak Roberto considers his audition for the fantasy series Adarna a memorable experience.

He realized:”Ganun talaga parang pag sa ‘yo, sa ‘yo. ‘Yung hangga’t hindi nagti-taping huwag ka umasa na sa iyo ‘yung role. Hintayin mo muna talaga na nakakapag-taping ka na.”

8. Kyline Alcantara

Kyline Alcantara said that her failed audition for an indie film was unforgettable.

Though the project was not given to her, Kyline learned the valuable lesson of not giving on her dream.

“Basta sa isang Indie film hindi ko nakuha. Maraming rejections ako matatanggap sa buhay but still if you want it you will continue pursuing your dreams.”
