The monicker was bestowed to Bernardo after the smashing success of the worldwide hit Hello, Love, Goodbye.
The movie which also stars Kapuso actor Alden Richard is currently the country’s top-grossing Filipino film of all time having generated more than 880 million pesos in box office receipts.
But that’s not all, it also made Kathryn the first Filipina ever to earn more than 800 million at the box office for two consecutive films.
Kathryn was also part of the former highest-grossing Pinoy film The Hows of Us with her real-life boyfriend and original love team partner Daniel Padilla which earned 805 million at the worldwide box office.
During the Star Cinema’s thanksgiving party for Hello, Love, Goodbye, Kathryn said that she’s very thankful for the success of their movie but she still can’t believe the huge success that they have achieved.
“Dito ko napatunayan na kapag minahal mo ‘yung project o ginagawa mo, babalik sa ‘yo. Kung ano ‘yung tinanim mo, aanihin mo talaga. Siguro, nag-reflect lang kung paano ‘yung pagmamahal na binigay namin sa bawat pelikula. I’m really thankful. It’s surreal. Hindi ko alam kung paano nangyayari ‘to ngayon.”
Meanwhile, aside from Kathryn, her co-star in the blockbuster movie Hello, Love, Goodbye was also given a new title.
Kapuso actor Alden Richard has earned the title Asia’s Multimedia Star following the huge success of their movie.
During the renewal of his contract with the Kapuso network, Richard was named Asia’s Multimedia Star following his successive feats on TV, recording and his latest achievement in movies.
Prior to Hello, Love, Goodbye, Alden made a popular history with Maine Mendoza via their love team AlDub in the hit Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga.
His first self-titled album released in 2013, was certified Platinum by PARI (Philippine Association of the Record Industry). And he recently won the Asian Star Prize in the Seoul International Drama Awards for the second time.
