Actress-politician Lani Mercado expressed her sympathy for Maine Mendoza who is currently preoccupied with her two upcoming movies: BlackSheep’s  Isa Pa With Feelings of and Metro Manila Film Festival 2019 entry Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity.

Lani plays Maine’s mother in the MMFF 2019 movie which also stars Vic Sotto.

In an interview last September 22, Sunday, at the Sta. Rita de Cascia Parish Church, Philam Homes, Quezon City, the Bacoor City Mayor shared some details about her shooting with Maine.

“Saglit na saglit lang, isang sequence. Pero ano naman, nagpa-picture ako dahil fan ako!” she said.

Lani also described the actress as a professional and a good person.

“Professional naman yung bata. Mabait, professional. I hope to do more scenes with her,” Lani shared.

“May mga flashback kasi, na ang kaeksena ko, iyong batang Maine.

“The other day iyong scene namin na siya na… siya na ang kaeksena ko.”

Lani also shared about Maine’s struggles in an underwater scene shot throughout the pouring rain. With this in mind, Lani opened up about her sympathy for Maine who is now experiencing a hectic schedule in shooting two movies.

She also recounted her conversation with her husband Senator Bong Revilla, “Sabi ni Bong sa akin, ‘So, nanay ka ni Maine.

“E, ako, magiging leading man ni Maine. So, nanay na rin kita!’

“Ay! Ano ba yun? Hahahaha!

“Sabi ko, ‘Ininsulto mo pa ako!’ Hindi! Joke lang yun. Joke lang!

“Binabalak pa lang yun, e, nagpapatawa si Senator.

“Parang si Marian [Rivera], di ba? Naging leading lady ni Bong si Marian sa Panday. Naging nanay ako ni Marian sa Amaya.

“Kaya ang biro ni Bong, ‘So, ngayon, puwede na kitang maging nanay?’ ‘Batuhin kaya kita?!’ Ha! Ha! Ha!”

Plans for Maine and Bong’s upcoming movie were already laid out last year. According to columnist Lolit Solis, the two stars will play as father-daughter so fans have nothing to worry about. The film’s story is said to resemble that of the international film Taken.
