The Clash, the all-original singing competition by GMA Network, is starting its second season soon. The audition for the said reality singing competition is still ongoing as singers from different parts of the country are coming in.
Some changes will be applied to the second season of The Clash. One of the twists is the automatic inclusion of the 12 weekly winners of Studio 7’s Duet With Me in the Top 64 Clashers. Aside from this, the Clash Masters and backstage hosts are new, too.
Meanwhile, The Clash judges—Comedy Queen Ai-Ai Delas Alas; Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista; and Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha—shared their reactions about the controversial contestant of It’s Showtime who belittled composer, songwriter, musical director, and album producer Louie Ocampo by posting “composer ka lang” on Twitter.
The Comedy Queen said, “Ay, hindi uubra sa akin yung ganon.
Tsaka it pays to be humble.
Christian agreed with Ai-Ai and reminded people to be careful with their choice of words and to show respect to artists who have already proven their worth and talent in the industry.
Na how he contributed sa OPM before saying that. Kasi talagang. I’ve toured with him, Sarah (Geronimo) tours with him.
To balance their opinions, Lani tried to see the matter from a different perspective. Lani thinks the contestant found the situation overwhelming since she doesn’t know how the industry runs and how to handle every situation efficiently.
“Makisama o kung papaano nila dapat, i-act out yung kanilang ugali…
Despite not mentioning the name of the show and the contestant, there was no doubt that the controversial contestant It’s Showtime Tawag ng Tangahalan contestant Shantal Cuizon whose Twitter post “Composer ka lang” went viral.
Her rude behavior stemmed from when she was nearly “gonged” or evicted from the competition by Ocampo who was the headmaster at the time.
But her attempts to demean Ocampo backfired as netizens criticized the aspiring singer for being disrespectful and boastful.
Cuizon failed to make it to the grand finals.
During her last day performance, Shantal made a public apology to Ocampo followed by her deactivating her Twitter account.
