Director Bobi Bonifacio defends ‘Hellcome Home’ against bashers: “Nag-brainstorm po kami”

“It’s an original concept. Nakikita po kasi nila na parang Amityville, kasi nga ang dating ay parang nasa bahay, murder, may patayan na mangyayari, pero hindi po.”

At a press conference for the Hellcome Home starring Raymond Bagatsing, Alyssa Muhlach, Dennis Trillo, and Beauty Gonzalez, Director Bobi Bonifacio defended the film’s concept.

According to Bobi, the film’s concept is original, the twists and turns of the story are unique, unlike what netizens are claiming that it has a similar story to American horror films such as Amityville, Sinister, and The Others.

Bobi explained, “It’s an original concept. Nakikita po kasi nila na parang Amityville, kasi nga ang dating ay parang nasa bahay, murder, may patayan na mangyayari, pero hindi po. Actually it came from an original concept na about a certain family living in a house and of course may mga mamatay. Pero yung mga twists and turns po talaga iba, and actually nag-brainstorm po kami niyan, at binuo naming mga writers para magkaroon ng unique flavor.”

Bobi also shared what viewers can expect from the film. He assured audiences that as soon as they watch the film they will stop comparing Hellcome Home to American horror films.

“Sa pelikulang ito marami kaming binigay na gore, so madugo siya. Ayun ang unique factor niya compared to other movies.”

Hellcome Home will be officially available in cinemas starting on October 30, 2019. In the meantime, here’s the official trailer of Hellcome Home.
