Jessy Mendiola is part of the Kapamilya drama series, Sandugo, starring Ejay Falcon and Aljur Abrenica.
ABS-CBN’s new afternoon series Sandugo aired its pilot episode last September 30. The story is all about two brothers growing up in extreme poverty with two loving and hard working parents. Julius (Ejay Falcon) and Aris (Aljur Abrenica) are fraternal twins but due to Julius’s heart condition their mother Joan (Cherry Pie) decided to give Aris to a wealthy couple in exchange for a large amount of money just to save Julius’s life.
Meanwhile during the press conference last September 24, Jessy cleared up circulating rumors about her transfer to a rival network.
She confirmed that Sandugo is the reason she stopped her plans to ABS-CBN. Jessy plays the role of Melissa “Melai” Pamintuan in Sandugo .
I think that’s one of the main reasons why I said yes.”
The actress’s last TV appearance was in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2018, but her last drama series was You’re My Home, which ended in 2016.
Jessy also added that June Rufino is her new manager, who is also the manager of Luis Manzano, her longtime boyfriend. She also stated that there’s no bad blood between her and Star Magic.
“Nagpaalam ako nang maayos. And sila Mr. M [Johnny Manahan], Tita Mariole [Alberto], they were very understanding. So, pinayagan nila ako. Walang struggle or whatever.”
Sandugo is part of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Gold afternoon block which premiered last September 30, 2019, replacing Los Bastardos.
