Forty-one-year-old singer, songwriter, and one of the judges of ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment on It’s Showtime Nyoy Volante reacted to being compared with To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo.
Nyoy humbly said: “It’s because of the hair, kasi di ba yung hair ko, loko-loko lang ‘yan ang layo layo. That guy is like a hunk, young and tall, kita mo naman di ba?”
When Tonight with Boy Abunda host Boy Abunda asked him if he was aware that people consider him as sexy, he was surprised and flattered.
Nyoy told Boy, “Oh my God, oh wow! Thank you, I mean, I’ll take it!”

Nyoy on the hilarious background of producing ‘Nasaan’
In an interview with Tonight With Boy Abunda, Nyoy shared how he was able to come up with lyrics of his hit song ‘Nasaan.”
“As a songwriter kasi, merong mga pumapasok na tono na matatandaan mo. So I was humming that particular tune pero wala pa siyang words. Then I took a bath, hindi ko makita ‘yung sabon. I was still humming then [I said] ‘nasaan ka na,’ hinahanap ko ‘yung sabon and then sabi ko, ‘uy maganda ‘yun ah.
Without even wasting a minute, he immediately went out of the bathroom to take note of that particular line and record.
“Labas kaagad ako [ng banyo], nakatuwalya lang ako noon, basang-basa pa ako. I had to record it kasi sandali lang mawawala ‘yun sa utak mo eh. Hindi na ako nag-waste ng time just to record that particular line. And ‘Nasaan’ was born, dahil sa sabon.”
Nyoy on writing ‘Someday’ as a hugot anthem
According to Nyoy, “Someday” was successfully created based on something very personal to him and it speaks for people suffering from an unrequited love who finally realize that they deserve someone way better.
“Nangyari naman talaga sa akin ‘yun. But it’s an anthem – an anthem for people who deserve someone better. Kasi ang daming ganung kuwento na mahal na mahal mo ‘yung boyfriend or girlfriend mo, pero hindi ka tinatrato nang mas maayos. Eventually napagod ka na lang and you’ll say na, ‘Alam mo balang araw, may magmamahal sa akin the way I deserve to be loved.”
In line with this, the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ judge now plans to release a new album together with a song he wrote for his wife.
