APT CEO Michael “Mike” Tuviera finally broke his silence on the alleged cancellation of Sunday PinaSaya. The weekly musical-variety show of GMA Network has been entertaining audiences for four consecutive years.
According to the APT CEO, Sunday PinaSaya is the first-ever Sunday noontime show that was able to present such a genre.
Mike said: “Malungkot po siyempre kasi naging pamilya na po kami that’s four and a half years, so we are very very thankful siyempre to GMA for the opportunity.
“We are very proud of what we did, kasi from the beginning po talagang number one kami and it became very historic, kasi wala pa po nakagawa ng ganung genre.
“Comedy variety during Sunday noontime show, we are very very proud of what we did.”
Sunday PinaSaya will soon be over
The weekly musical-variety show is now down to its last five weeks, and the last episode will be on December 22, 2019, just three days before Christmas Day.
Jerald Napoles, one of the mainstays of the show, declared that for as long as Sunday PinaSaya is running, it will still be the leading GMA program against its rival show ASAP Natin ‘To.
Jerald said: “Hindi na po nila nasabi sa amin. We were just informed that we have a few episodes left so let’s do our best. As long as we’re airing, we’re still number one Sunday noontime show.”
