- Jobert Sucaldito got flak on social media for his comments on Nadine Lustre.
Talent manager and radio host Jobert Sucaldito has finally apologized to Nadine Lustre after his insensitive comments.
In a statement, Wednesday, January 9, 2020, Sucaldito apologized to Lustre as well as others who were bothered by his remarks. He also apologized to his radio network DZMM for putting them in a bad light.
“I would like to apologize to Ms. Nadine Lustre and to those who got bothered by that sa aspetong ito. I am also apologizing to my radio network DZMM for putting them in discomfort because of this.”
Jobert’s apology came after the backlash he got on social media.
On Monday, January 6, in his radio show on DZMM titled Showbuzz, Jobert castigated Nadine over her IG story slamming Ricky Lo.
That particular IG story was Jobert and co-host Ahwel Paz’s topic on the show that day. During the discussion, Jobert made an insensitive comment pertaining to Nadine’s mental health.
“You are wrong here.
Netizens didn’t let that comment pass as they slammed the radio host, making it one of the trending topics on Twitter Philippines.
Jobert Sucaldito is so full of himself. Nadine and other showbiz personalities will continue to thrive on their own merits without his and his ilk's rumor mongering. They're nothing but vultures who make money by capitalizing on other people's hard work, parang langaw sa kalabaw. https://t.co/9VUgvdOMSY

Funny, how Jobert Sucaldito proposed a JaDine media black out. If he doesn’t get the reason why Nadine called out Ricky Lo, then it speaks so much of his person. Nadine doesn’t need write ups/interviews from people who bully their way thru life. The disrespect is unbelievable.

Jobert, it's not Nadine's fault you constantly misinterpret her Instagram posts. And for Nadine to be the one to reach out to Ricky Lo? WHY ON EARTH DID HE NOT DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE TO VERIFY THEIR RELATIONSHIP STATUS, IDIOT? #SuicideIsNotAJokeJobert #ApologizeToNadine

I'll always be grateful to Nay Jobert for his kindness towards my family. But speaking as someone who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder and who actually attempted to jump off a 13-storey building in 2015, I was hurt by what he said. #SuicideIsNotAJokeJobert

Prior to Jobert’s apology, ABS-CBN News through its head Ging Reyes issued a statement regarding Sucaldito’s remarks.
In the statement, Reyes said they are investigating the matter and will make sure their broadcasters are accountable for their actions and words on-air.
“We in ABS-CBN News take the issue of mental health very seriously. This was even the subject of a recent documentary that was produced. We are investigating reports that DZMM host Jobert Sucaldito uttered inappropriate and insensitive comments regarding actress Nadine Lustre’s state of mental health. Our journalists and other members of our team are accountable for their on-air statements.”
