- Eat Bulaga scored victory with Bawal Judgmental.
- Eat Bulaga back to number 1 in noontime skot.
After bowing to It’s Showtime for quite some time, the country’s longest-running noontime show has again found its way to the top.
With the help of its newest segment Bawal Judgmental, Eat Bulaga was able to regain noontime leadership beating rival It’s Showtime.
In the latest available data from AGB Nielsen NUTAM survey, Eat Bulaga! edged out It’s Showtime, 7% vs 5.5% in the December 13, 2019 results.
Eat Bulaga‘s ratings surge was propelled by good feedback from viewers of its new segment Bawal Ang Judgmental.
Last Saturday, January 4, 2020 the segment was the Philippines’ top trending topic on Twitter when it featured closeted gays who decided to come out on national TV.
With Melanie Marquez as its celebrity player, the episode had almost everyone in tears including hosts Allan K, Paolo Ballesteros, and Vic Sotto.
Emotions were high in the episode because of the harrowing stories of men about their sexual orientation and their decision to finally reveal it to their families in front of the public.
One guy even shared about being abused by his stepfather and his reunion with his biological father who was there to accept his whole being.
Meanwhile, prior to this latest trending episode, Eat Bulaga‘s Bawal Judgemental already trended weeks ago for its episode featuring people living with HIV.
Netizens were all praises for how Eat Bulaga! handled such a sensitive issue.

Get a quality time w/ family & friends to watch episodes of Bawal Judgemental in Youtube & other links. It's the new platform in town to share info about social issues. I agree, it breaks the walls of stigma and prejudice, and create bridges of hope. #BawalJudgmental

Imagine what #EatBulaga had to sacrifice just to take a chance with this #BawalJudgmental segment. They had to veer away from Juan For All just to introduce this segment and boy did they find a gold mine with this.

Thank you, @EatBulaga, for providing a platform for HIV awareness and augmenting the voices of the marginalized. And to all those PLHIVs who bravely stood on national TV to tell their stories, you are all lovely, lovely people. May life always treat you kindly. #BawalJudgmental
