- Bernardo’s perfectionism sometimes lead to heated moments in the set
Kapamilya stars Xian Lim and Cristine Reyes star in the movie Untrue under the direction of Sigrid Andrea Bernardo.
At a solo presscon of the director, she shared what they went through just to produce this film.
Bernardo is known for her “perfectionism” in every project she directs, which could lead to tensions on the set due to the increased pressure to get the scenes right. She admitted that sometimes the drama extends off-screen due to a spike in emotions and tiredness. However, she admired her lead stars’ professionalism on the set.
“Sabi ko, yung mga drama nila sa buhay ilabas nila sa harap ng camera hindi off-camera. Wala akong pakialam sa ugali nila dahil iba rin naman ang ugali ko,” Bernardo commented.
When asked if she’s on good terms with her artists, she said: “Okay kami. Alam mo du’n sa set, ang gusto ko lang kay Christine at Xian, very professional sila.”
“And, gagawin talaga nila lahat ng pinapagawa ko,” she added.
Like any other stars, Bernardo admitted that there was a time when Cristine got annoyed at Xian due to their contrasting roles.
“Kasi makulit si Xian minsan eh. Siyempre, si Cristine, in character siya na iba yung role. So iba eh. Nagchacharacterization si Xian na loko-loko, si Cristine in character na hindi loko-loko, so paano pag pinag-meet mo yung dalawa, ayun napikon.”
According to the award-winning director, the two stars (Reyes and Lim) attended workshops to prepare them for their roles which she said are different from their past projects.
Untrue tells the story of two Filipinos Mara Villanueva (Cristine Reyes) and Joachim Castro (Xian Lim) who meet by chance in the town of Tbilisi, Georgia and tie the knot believing that what they have is a long and lasting love.
This psychological thriller movie will surely mess with your mind as a dark past is slowly revealed piece by piece.
Aside from Cristine and Xian, Rhen Escano’s character will also shock viewers as she plays a pivotal role in the movie.
Untrue is set to pemiere on February 19, 2020 in cinemas nationwide.
