To avoid the increasing numbers of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the government has implemented the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon as people are expected to stay inside their homes.
The government has prohibited local street vendors, malls and even public transportation such as taxis, tricycles, and jeepneys to operate. Poor families who are working in informal sectors and under a no-work-no-pay scheme are having problems in securing food and necessities to survive.
On Thursday, ABS-CBN launched a campaign to help the Kapamilyas by assisting the local governments in providing food and necessities to poor families who greatly affected by the enhanced community quarantine.
ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak initiated a campaign called “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig”. This aims to raise funds by mobilizing private companies and individuals to help.
The Lopez Group, which ABS-CBN belongs to, is donating 100 million pesos to jumpstart the campaign said Katigbak.
Katigbak also called on corporations to donate products that could be distributed among the poor as he spoke on the TV Patrol, the network’s flagship news program.

Katigbak said that the company will partner with the local government units who will package and distribute the items to the barangays.
As part of the campaign, 100 Kapamilya stars will be joining At home together: a concert for three hours to help more Kapamilyas.
