Iza Calzado earned the ire of netizens when she commented on Lea Salonga’s post. Iza had said then that the pandemic COVID-19 was the universe’s way of making the world a better place and to just watch Netflix and chill during the enhanced community quarantine.
But, last week the 37-year-old multi-talented actress tested positive for coronavirus disease.
In line with this, netizens can’t help but consider it as ‘karma’ for Iza for downplaying how serious the effect that COVID-19 and the quarantine had on other people’s lives.

Fortunately, there are netizens asking others not to tell Iza Calzado that it’s karma for her to have COVID-19 disease, here are the reactions of netizens encouraging the others to stop the hate.
I hope people bashing Iza Calzado will have perspective. She posted a comment. Wasn't particularly mean. Now you are celebrating her sickness?
Be objective who is being vile and you will realize what kind of person you have become. By your logic, if she deserves this… well…

Stop telling Iza na karma niya iyon. Let’s be better citizens. Unang-una, maaring PUM na siya when she posted that and that she is projecting it sa situation niya.
Let’s be kinder mga beqs.

A netizen reiterated that maybe during the time Iza commented on Lea’s post, she was already a PUI or a person under investigation, and it’s just one of her ways to lighten up her situation.
Iza Calzado said something out of touch before but it’s too much when people say “karma” on her getting Covid.
Come on people. Di naman kadumal dumal ginawa at sinabi nya.
Matagal ng chimis may sakit sya. Probably was a PUI when she said that, kaya nagpapaka positive lang sya

A netizen who goes by the name of Seo Dan @Cperspective2 stated that people mocking Iza and ranting that the actress is insensitive about the situation should also check their privilege, as others don’t have the ability to be fully informed online for they cannot afford to have an internet connection at home.
"Ang insensitive ni Iza Calzado"
Iza tested positive, people starts mocking her. Hypocrites. Sa mga nagsasabing karma is a bitch, ingat baka sa susunod ikaw naman. Check your privilege din, you have a device and Internet to spread hate while others don't even have home.
— Seo Dan (@Cperspective2) March 28, 2020
Iza may have her ‘karma’ now for being insensitive before, but is it necessary to celebrate her current condition?
To the people celebrating Iza Calzado's condition, what makes you different from the very thing you hated about Iza?
I mean, karma had her now, why is it essential for some to drag her? Ain't karma enough? Ain't y'all a bit hypocritical?

To those people saying na "nakarma si Iza Calzado", mga sizt, to everything you've said and is saying about her, di ka ba takot aa "karma"?
— TriggeredAdult (@AdultTriggered) March 25, 2020
People who are glorifying with the current situation of Iza Calzado. You all will meet your Karma soon. Remember, karma is best served cold…. You don’t glorify on the misfortunes of other people, hon.

Too much hate in social media. Kaloka lang mga tirada kay IZA CALZADO na para bang nakapatay sya. She has a positive outlook in life. Masama ba yun? Sure naman she means no harm. Kung makapagsalita pa ang iba na karma daw ito ngayon sa kanya, grabe lang! WHY SO MEAN? 😑

Meanwhile, some netizens firmly believe that this is not the right time to poke fun at Iza’s current condition.
Thus, people should pray that everyone infected by the COVID-19 would be healed, and for others who can’t stop hating and telling Iza that this is her karma should wait for their turn to face their own.
Iza Calzado's, situation is not something to celebrate. If this is her Karma, wait for your Karma.
— N. (@noreeeen) March 28, 2020
Ano naman ikaka-karma ni iza calzado? Mga bwaka ng ina nyo eh kahit sino pwede tamaan ng virus na yan! Antagal nyong mga mamamatay antatalino nyo andami nyong alam!

Iza’s manager Noel Ferrer confirmed that the actress is coping very well as the former humorously said, “Nasa akin ang corona.”
Ferrer confirmed: “I knew Iza is coping very well because of her display of good disposition. She is ok and she is thankful to everyone who has been attending to her and who has sent their messages of concern and love.”

GOOD DISPOSITION. GOOD SENSE & PRUDENCE. I knew Iza is coping very well because of her display of good disposition. She said, (even in jest), “Nasa akin ang corona” – while really wanting to share her learnings and realizations as she is continuously batting with the virus. For the first time last night she said, she slept well and is about to complete her cycle of antibiotics. She is ok, and she is thankful to everyone who has been attending to her and who has sent their messages of concern and love. She is better now than a few days ago when she sent a personal video to update friends and family about her condition. Unfortunately – an old video has been carelessly circulated online passing it off as Iza’s present state. There’s a lesson to be learned here – GOOD SENSE. Sound judgment dictates that one should be able to discern what is personal from what is for public consumption. (Please take those videos down, they are not yours and you don’t have permission!) Let us always be PRUDENT and try to base all our decisions and actions on what will sow hope and care which we all so need at this time. Keep safe everyone! Still and again, let’s keep #PrayingForIza and all our needy kababayans . #LabanIza
UPDATE: Iza got tested again and this time came out as negative for COVID-19 and will soon to be discharged from the hospital. Noel Ferrer shared the good news about Iza on his Instagram account.
Ferrer confirmed: “It’s an amazing start of the week as we were just told that Iza can go home tomorrow after completing her IV antibiotics! Moreover, the good news is Iza’s results came back and she is now negative for COVID.”

Dear Family and Friends, It’s an amazing start of the week as we were just told that Iza can go home tomorrow after completing her IV antibiotics! Moreover, the good news is – Iza’s retest results came back and she is now negative for CoVid. We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers, love and support especially the doctors, nurses and all the health workers who continuously risk their lives to serve us all at this time. Let us continue to pray as Iza continues to heal and support others who are battling with the virus. Indeed, we pray and heal as one. To God Be The Glory!
