Jodi Sta. Maria expresses opposition to politicians asking medical practitioners for home visits for COVID-19 testing

ABS-CBN actress Jodi Sta. Maria expressed her opposition to some politicians who are using their position to be prioritized in this time of crisis due to COVID-19.

These politicians are even asking the medical professionals for home visits just to take COVID-19 testing right in the comforts of their homes.

Sta. Maria hopes that the public can be fully informed which of the politicians are asking medical professionals for COVID-19 testing at home.

“Wag naman po sanang ganito. Sana pwedeng ma-disclose kung sinu-sino ang mga ito.”

It can be recalled that the Department of Health (DOH) announced the test kits in the Philippines are limited and even if Jack Ma and other well-known celebrities are donating medical supplies, it’s still not enough to do mass testing and definitely not the perfect time to prioritize politicians.

With limited test kits, asymptomatic politicians like Senate President Tito Sotto, Ping Lacson, Imee Marcos, Grace Poe, Francis Tolentino, Bong Revilla, and Pia Cayetano still got tested before the patients who are confined in the hospitals.

Aside from Sta. Maria, ABS-CBN Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila got furious and vented out her dismay with those politicians asking to take COVID-19 tests in their homes.

Davila said: “Nakakagalit. Tumigil na kayong mga pulitiko at staff ninyo na nagpapa-test pa sa bahay pa sa ating DOH surveillance team. Dapat lahat ng pangalan niyo mabunyag sa totoo lang.”

Politicians have been getting tested despite the shortage of test kits and being asymptomatic, taking away resources that would have been otherwise allotted to sick patients.
