She expressed gratitude to everyone who showed support and love for her.

Love Thy Woman lead star Kim Chiu went ahead to her taping for the series despite the shooting incident where two unidentified gunmen shot at the van she was riding in while they were on Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

Luckily, none of her companions were physically affected by the incident, Kim immediately updated everyone through her Instagram and Twitter account that all of them are okay. She expressed gratitude to everyone who showed support and love for her.

Kim had fallen asleep while on the way to the set and this saved her life since she wasn’t in her usual seat where she would read her script.

“I saw this bullet on the windshield where my head was laying, buti nakahiga ako, paano kung tinuloy ko magbasa ng script? I was so scared, I don’t know what to feel right now. Wala naman akong kaaway or ka atraso.”

A few hours after the incident, the ABS-CBN executives took the time to comfort the Cebuana Kapamilya actress.

Celebrities immediately expressed their concern for Kim.

“Kimmy thank goodness you are okay.” – Megan Young

“What a blessing to know that nothing happened to you. Thank God you’re safe!” – Cristalle Belo

“Kimmy! So glad that you and your team are ok. God is great at binaba mo ang script at humiga ka! Love and light to you my dear!” – Iza Calzado

“God bless you, Kim and thank God you are safe.” – Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan

While some netizens were still in shock, they praised Kim Chiu for showing professionalism when she went ahead to the taping of Love Thy Woman.

In an exclusive interview a few hours after the shooting incident, an emotional Kim narrated that it was the first time she heard real gunshots and she still doesn’t know the reasons it happened to her.

“I was scared, magtatrabaho ako, pupunta ako taping tapos magigising ako pinagbabaril ang kotse ko. Hindi ko alam what’s happening. ‘Di ko alam kung may kaaway ako. Wala naman. It’s just a normal taping day for me na lumabas ako ng village. Tapos wala. Natutulog lang ako. Dapat magbabasa ako ng script pero inantok ako on the way paglabas ng village. Humiga ako. So kung ‘di inantok at tinuloy ko ang pagbasa ng script, siguro tinamaan na ako dito. I was scared.

“Maliit lang yung putok, as in manipis lang ‘yung tunog. Tapos sabi ko ano yun, ano nangyayari, pumunta ako sa driver and PA ko, sabi nila nabaril yung kotse, tinignan ko agad silang dalawa, okay ba kayo, kasi yung driver ko yung windshield butas na ng bala. Hanggang sa umupo ko, nakita ko yung mga baril na bilog bilog, kung hindi ako humiga, tatamaan talaga ako which is wala naman akong kasalanan, di ko alam what’s happening.”

She immediately called her sister to inform her what had happened and asked for another driver to pick her up for the Love Thy Woman taping.

“Tumawag ako sa ate ko. Tumawag ako na, ‘Uy, binaril ang kotse ko. Ang dami kong tinawagan. Kasi ‘di ko alam ang gagawin ko. Umupo ako sa sasakyan. Ang daming pulis sa labas. Hindi ko na alam. After that, nag-hang ako. Sinundo ako ng driver kong isa. Nagpasundo ako. Then instinct ko, pumunta akong taping. Nag-take ako ng dalawang eksena. Siguro adrenaline rush, ‘Taping tayo. Magtrabaho tayo.”
