Senator Migz Zubiri is in hot water after undermining the work of Pinoy health workers in his Facebook post.
In the post, Zubiri questioned how Philippine hospitals are attending or treating COVID-19 patients saying it seemed they don’t know what they are doing.
“We now have one of the highest death rates of COVID-19 cases in the region at almost 10%. Our hospitals don’t seem to know how to treat our Patients no matter how heroic their actions are. Pls Pls Pls try the drugs already in use by Thailand, Korea, and India where it seems to be working and they have lessened their death rates,” Zubiri wrote.
Zubiri was the first senator to come out positive with COVID-19.
Although the post has already been edited, netizens who are health workers managed to take a screenshot of the original one.
In a tweet, @smolsurgeon slammed Zubiri for his remark saying he has the audacity to complain given that he broke the protocol for those who should be tested for the disease.
“Wow. This privileged fucker was tested for coronavirus whilst being asymptomatic (thereby skipping guidelines), tapos he has the gall to criticize healthcare workers pa??” she tweeted.

In the DOH protocol, asymptomatic patients shouldn’t be tested for the disease given the deficiency of testing kits. But Zubiri who admitted to being asymptomatic was able to get the DOH green light for testing which eventually came out positive.
Another doctor, Dr. Clinton Balud also shared Zubiri’s Facebook post.
In his tweet, Balud sarcastically called on hospitals for not knowing what to do as stated by Zubiri.
Huli ka!!!! Uy, mga hospital sa Pilipinas, di nyo raw alam ang ginagawa nyo sabi ni Migz Zubiri! pic.twitter.com/qSx3jQDKgX

Meanwhile, LionhearTV was able to get hold of another medical practitioner who asked to remain anonymous.
In the interview, the doctor said it’s really appalling how VIPs were able to break the protocol on COVID-19 testing given the limited numbers of testing kits now.
He also shared about DOH’s inconsistent protocol which confuses people.
“DOH even revised the algorithm protocol eh. Kaya nakakalito sa iba. Until March 10, lahat ng PUI (Persons Under Investigation) dapat ma test. Pero nung March 16, binago nanaman nila. If mild lang daw ang symptoms ng PUI, no testing is needed. Why would you change your protocol to accommodate the deficient kits? Dapat bilisan nila ang pag bili ng bagong kits. Dapat lahat sa community na test and if positive isolate ASAP. pero di ito nangyayari. Kaya yang data natin, underestimated yan. Unless we test and test and test people, di natin malalaman ang magnitude ng infection,” he said.
“Ang complain [naman] sa RITM is mabagal ang labas ng results and nadedelay ang test kasi ang daming VIP na siningit ipa test. Kahit di naman kailangan,” he added.
