ABS-CBN airs Special Lenten Programming

ABS-CBN will have a special Lenten programming featuring hit Star Cinema movies and inspirational shows while delivering the latest news with “News Patrol” from Holy Thursday (April 9) to Black Saturday (April 11).

ABS-CBN will have a special Lenten programming featuring hit Star Cinema movies and inspirational shows while delivering the latest news with “News Patrol” from Holy Thursday (April 9) to Black Saturday (April 11).

“News Patrol” is a 20-minute newscast that will bring the latest updates as Luzon remains in enhanced community quarantine.

Meanwhile, viewers can also enjoy values-filled blockbuster movies and shows throughout Holy Week.

On April 9 (Thursday), the love story of Laida Magtalas (Sarah Geronimo) and Miguel Montenegro (John Lloyd Cruz) will show how two opposite worlds will collide and become one in “A Very Special Love” (12 NN) and in its sequel “You Changed My Life” (2 PM). On the other hand, the magic of eternal love will be witnessed in “She’s Dating the Gangster” (8 PM), led by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Holy Thursday is also packed with values-laden programs and movies, including “Superbook” (6 AM), “Free Willy 3” (6:30 AM), “Your Name” (8 AM), “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe” (10 AM), “Moments with Fr. Jerry” (4 PM), “The Lord’s Supper” (5 PM), “The Bible” (6 PM), “Wonderful Nightmare” (10 PM), and restored version of “Ibong Adarna” (11:30 PM).

On April 10 (Friday), the tandem of Bea Alonzo and Aga Muhlach will bring inspiration in “First Love” (8 PM), while shows and films “Superbook” (6 AM), “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” (6:30 AM), “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” (10 AM), “Seven Last Words” (12 NN), “Veneration of the Cross” (3 PM), “I Am Patrick” (4 PM), “The Bible” (6 PM), “Be With You” (10:30 PM), and “Wonder” (11:30 PM) will teach lessons about kindness and faith in God.

On April 11 (Saturday), the iconic loveteam of Bea and John Lloyd will hit the TV screens with their films “One More Chance” (12 NN) and “A Second Chance” (2 PM), while KathNiel will show how dreams and sacrifices will make a perfect love story in “Barcelona: A Love Untold” (7:30 PM). Also airing on Black Saturday are inspirational shows and movies “Superbook” (6AM), “Dr. Dolittle 2” (6:30 AM), “Fireworks” (8 AM), “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” (10 AM), “Remy” (4 PM), “The Bible” (5:30 PM), “Sori: Voice of the Heart” (9:30 PM), and “Easter Vigil Mass” (11 PM).
