President Rodrigo Roa Duterte addressed the nation on April 6, 2020 in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic

“Di ako makatulog. Nag iisip ako buong gabi. Abutan na ako daybreak. [I can’t sleep. I was up all night thinking about it, (COVID19 pandemic in the country)].

“The 100 Billion for one month or the 270 Billion for two months is not enough. I am calling the Secretary of Finance to already generate funds.

“Hindi ko alam kung hanggang kelan kayo sa bahay. Hindi ko alam saan ako kukuha ng pera kasi hindi ko alam kung may bibili pa sa ibebenta natin.” (I don’t know up to when you will stay at home. I don’t know where to source out funds because I don’t know if they will buy what we sell them.)
