Multi-awarded FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actor Coco Martin took his frustration and anger to Instagram as his home network ABS-CBN officially signed off on Tuesday, May 5, after it’s primetime newscast TV Patrol aired its final episode.
On the image-sharing platform, the 38-year-old action star expressed his disbelief and anger towards Solicitor General Jose Calida and the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) who successfully terminated ABS-CBN’s broadcast without putting into consideration the number of people who will be significantly affected by their decision to terminate ABS-CBN’s operations nationwide.
Martin feels for the more than 11 thousand workers, who have been in the industry for how many decades, possibly becoming jobless.

In his previous post, the Kapamilya actor defended his home network that has been in the service of the Filipinos for more than 60 years; providing up-to-date news, entertaining shows, and bringing hope to the people especially at this time of crisis.

His post earned mixed reactions from his followers and fans.
While some agreed with the actor, some also found his post “over-reacting.”
A few hours ago, NTC issued a cease and desist order against ABS-CBN Network, a day after its legislative franchise expired.
The said order directed the Lopez-owned broadcasting company to stop its television and radio broadcasting operations nationwide.
The order likewise granted ABS-CBN ten days from its receipt to respond and explain why the frequencies assigned to it should not be recalled.
Following the CDO issued by NTC, ABS-CBN officially went off-air after TV Patrol’s last episode was aired at exactly 7:52 pm.
Solicitor General Jose Calida, on the other hand, as one of the names mentioned by Martin on his post, filed a quo warranto petition before the Supreme Court seeking to void ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal last February.
