‘Nalito ako sa mass eh…’ Angel Locsin questions what term to use to avoid misinterpretation on Mass Testing

The actress retweeted CNN Philippines’ tweet about Pres. Spokesperson Harry Roque saying the government has no plans for mass testing.

Recently, Angel Locsin reacted to the announcement that the Philippine government won’t be conducting mass testing for the COVID-19 outbreak.

The actress retweeted CNN Philippines’ tweet about Pres. Spokesperson Harry Roque saying the government has no plans for mass testing, “Misquote lang ba to? Kasi hindi ako makapaniwalang hindi tayo nagpre-prepare for mass testing na kailangang-kailangan ngayon.”

Somehow her tweet was misinterpreted so she clarified that it was her reaction on the said CNN post and not on the term ‘expanded targeted testing’ that Presidential Harry Roque said.

“This (right) is not my reaction regarding mass/E.targeted testing sa bansa. This is my reaction towards this post. Asking kung misquote. May misunderstanding pala sa term na ginamit.”

But then Angel asked what term should really be used since it misleads people like her as to what testing should be done.

“Ang tanong, anong term ba ang tamang gamitin para hindi tayo magkagulo? Nalito ako sa mass eh…”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque lost his temper when he said he was misinterpreted on what he said about the government’s plan on mass testing.

The president’s spokesman was visibly angry as he berated CNN Philippines reporter Triciah Terada for a story about his comment on mass testing.

“Mali kasi yung term na ginamit mo kaya tuloy nagkagulo sa Twitter. Kasi lumalabas Trish sa report mo eh wala tayong expanded testing program, wala tayong kahit anong programa sa gobyerno na hindi naman totoo.”

He said he had to call Terada out for misinterpretation of what he said about the government’s proposal for mass testing. (Terada was not the journalist who wrote the said article)

“But again, I have to say it ano..I cannot do my job without….Sabi nang lahat wag ko na daw pansinin Trish no. Hindi, I have to call you out, kita mo naman yung naging resulta ng inyong reporting at ikaw lang ang nagreport na ganyan. Buti sana kung lahat ng Malacanang press corps, nagreport ng ganyan, I would say ako nagkamali, pero you took my statements out of context. Nagpanic ang publiko.”
