Last November 2019, It’s Showtime Vice Ganda and Duterte ally Pastor Apollo Quiboloy were at odds after the former challenged the latter when the pastor claimed he stopped an earthquake in Mindanao.
The comedian reacted to this by jokingly daring Quiboloy to stop traffic on EDSA. Quiboloy responded to the dare by threatening Vice that ABS-CBN might be the one “stopped” as its franchise renewal was languishing at Congress at the time.
In his Powerline program on the Sonshine Media International Network recently, Quiboloy reminded Vice about his challenge.
Quiboloy sarcastically asked why Vice was now upset about ABS-CBN’s shutdown, when back then he was the one who challenged Quiboloy to ‘stop’ the network as well,
“Nalulungkot ka, Vice, nalulungkot ka sapagkat hindi mo mapigilang umiyak dahil wala na yung mga programa niyo?”
The Pastor was referring to when Vice talked about how Quiboloy had claimed to stop the earthquake in Mindanao during It’s Showtime‘s Tawag ng Tanghalan Celebrity Champions segment. The Unkabogable Star then jokingly dared Quiboloy to the longest-running TV series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
“Nako, kabahan si Cardo! Ang pinakakalaban ni Cardo, ang feeling ko, si Quiboloy. ‘Yung nagpahinto ng lindol. Si Quiboloy lang ang magpapahinto ng Ang Probinsyano, abangan ni’yo ‘yan. So ano, Quiboloy, hinahamon kita, ipahinto mo nga ang Probinsyano! Napahinto mo pala ang lindol, e. Napakayabang niyo pala!
“Sabi niya daw, stop! Sige nga, punta ka sa gitna ng EDSA, stop mo ‘yung traffic dun! Iba ka Quiboloy!”
“Alalahanin mo, naghamon ka, hinamon mo ako noon. Ang saya-saya niyo noon. Naghahalakhakan kayo.”
Quiboloy didn’t even forget Vice’s co-host, Jhong Hilario who was laughing out loud with the comedian.
“Meron pang isang kasamahan mo na lalaki, pati ngala-ngala niya, nakita ko sa katatawa, e. Halos mabali ang leeg niya.”
During the first ABS-CBN franchise hearing in Congress (May 26), SAGIP partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta ended his statement showing the video of Vice’s controversial “joke” on Quiboloy’s claim.

Quiboloy had previously claimed that he was responsible for stopping the earthquake last October 30, 3019. “Sabi ko, Lindol huminto ka, huminto. Pasalamat kayo sa akin kasi kung hindi ko pina-stop ‘yun, marami kayong magigiba diyan, mamamatay kayo.”
