Why was ‘Make It With You’ cancelled?

LizQueen’s ‘Make It With You’ is not returning on air

After ABS-CBN’s comeback announcement, many were saddened that Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s romantic comedy series ‘Make It With You’ is not included on the list of television series that will be returning on air.

This was first confirmed by Soberano’s talent manager, Ogie Diaz, when he shared on Facebook that the television series will no longer continue.

He said, “Sa mga nagtatanong kumbakit hindi nakasama ang ‘Make It with You’ sa magbabalik sa telebisyon ngayong June… Ikinalulungkot ko pong ibalita sa inyo bilang manager ng isa sa bida (si Liza Soberano) na hindi na po ito mapapanood pa.”

Despite the early ending of ‘Make it With You’, Diaz assured fans that the LizQueen love team will come back soon for a new television series.

“Alam na po ito ng lahat ng cast, lalo na ng LizQuen. Alam kong nabitin kayo sa love story nina Billie at Gabo, kaya hintayin na lamang po ang pagbabalik ng love team sa isa pang bagong teleserye.”

The announcement was later validated by director Theodore Boborol when he posted on his Twitter account that the decision was due to ABS-CBN suffering from a ‘double blow’. Aside from the lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the network was also issued a cease and desist order by the NTC.

He further explained that ‘Make It With You’ is unlike the other series which already had taped episodes even before the crisis.

Although Boborol and his team had to let go of the series. He enjoined everyone’s support on the returning series and new shows on the Kapamilya Channel.

However, fans of LizQueen still cannot accept the fact that ‘Make It With You’ will not be returning to their television screens.
