Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu reiterated that ABS-CBN’s closure was the result of unequal government treatment of the station.
In her Instagram post , Kim shared a photo of herself photo praying. In the caption, the 30-year-old Kapamilya actress said that much has happened in 2020 which further strengthens our belief in God.
“Since the start of this year so many things happened, 2020 made our faith grow much stronger than ever. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring us. What we will be facing in the next few months, we are just crossing half of 2020.”

Kim also said that she still feels terrified every time she wakes up. She said it is not only for her, but also for her ABS-CBN colleagues who are about to lose their livelihood now that the network was taken off the air.
“Everyday I wake up there is always fear inside me, fear of Covid19, fear of my 2nd home being shut down by the government, fear for my co workers who have lost their job not because of the pandemic but because of unjust treatment.”
Kim also emphasized that the closure of ABS-CBN was due to the government’s unjust treatment of the broadcast giant, but the actress decided to entrust everything to God.
“Fear for my family’s health, fear for what will happen to us in the coming months with covid19 case, still going up estimated 85k by the end of July. Fear for so many people that are starving right now. There is so much going on. But I know, HE can hear us, HE can see us, HE will provide for us. We must not give up our faith in HIM. It is hard, this is a test of faith. 🙏🏻.”
“May You protect us Lord Jesus, May you remind us that it was you who sent us. You will see us through. We lift everything in Your mighty name. Amen.🤍🙏🏻 #faith #trust #inJesusnameWepray.”
Starting August 31, ABS-CBN will begin the mass reduction of employees and talents. Thousands will lose their employment after Congress refuses to give ABS-CBN another franchise.
ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak also said that they lost P30 to P35 million in their regular operations after they had been closed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
According to House Panel Hearings, Bayan Muna Party-List Member Carlos Zarate argued that the ABS-CBN Franchise Marathon House hearings were unable to find facts to prove that the network violated constitutional provisions and other applicable laws.
“Matapos ang napakaraming bintang, walang napatunayan na pagkakasala ang ABS-CBN. Sa halip, nakita natin ang kaniyang pakinabang sa bayan bilang tagapaglingkod,” Zarate said during his summation.
While Malacañang insists that the government is “neutral” on the issue of the ABS-CBN franchise, there is no denying that there is the President’s impact on the congressmen who voted to permanently abolish the Kapamilya network franchise.
