On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, Nadine Lustre through an Instagram story said, “Wag mo akong ma president president, you started this mess.”
This was about PhilStar news’ post about her, captioned, “The president has spoken.”
The post was about the actress calling out suspended DZMM anchor Jobert Sucaldito for his recent statements against ABS-CBN.
Sucaldito virtually attended the House of Representative’s hearing last Monday on ABS-CBN Network’s franchise renewal and expressed his sentiments towards the Network for suspending him after he told Nadine to jump off a building on his radio program.
“Mga fans (trolls ha not the educated ones) lang pala ang makakapagpatanggal sa akin sa show na pinaniwalaan yata ng napakahusay naming station manager,” he posted on Facebook in February. He justified his actions and statement by stating: “How about us? Papaano kami? Naisip niyo rin po ba kami? Napaka-harsh ng inyong desisyon. Napaka-cruel niyo.”
Nadine called out Sucaldito on her Instagram stories and made sure he would not get away with the recent comments and statements towards ABS-CBN.
She stated “You’re not seeing the bigger picture, Mr. Sucaldito. It’s messed up how you are completely unashamed of what you said. It’s never okay to push someone to commit suicide. I can’t believe you’re using this issue to fight our home network whose only objective is to protect us,”
The actress also questioned why was the suspended anchor was invited to speak at the hearing.
She also stated, “Kahit bali-aliktarin o, mali ýung sinabi mo. Inalis ka sa trabaho dahil mali ýung sinabi mo and how is this even on congress?! Someone enlighten me please. Ikaw na nga yung sinabihan na tumalon tapos parang kasalanan mo pa?? I’m sick and tired of these boomers treating mental issues like it’s a mf joke. Ayoko na. ‘Di ko na kaya mga ganap mumsh!”
Sucaldito’s rant against Nadine stemmed from Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo’s article hinting about her breakup with then boyfriend James Reid. When the actress reacted negatively to the article, Sucaldito took it upon himself to defend Lo, which included telling Nadine to jump off a building.
