Actor turned politician Richard Gomez reacted to the current issues faced by his past love Sharon Cuneta and her daughter Frankie Pangilinan.
The Megastar was recently involved in an issue stemming from Frankie’s online argument with Ben Tulfo. Frankie went viral after calling out the broadcaster who tried to undermine her stand against rape and who basically believed in victim-blaming.
A netizen named Sonny Alcos then commented on her post and threatened to rape Frankie. This enraged the Megastar who eventually said that she will track down the netizen.
On June 20, Sharon gained attention online after slamming writer-director Ronald Carballo, who was once her friend from a young age. Ronald smeared her name on social media and called her a “flop” actress.
He also attacked Sharon’s daughter KC Concepcion in his posts.
Reacting to this, Richard said that he also has bashers on social media but he just chooses to ignore them. He also advised that a person will always have both critics and admirers.
“Siguro tayong mga artista, we have to accept the fact na mayroong may gusto sa atin at mayroong ayaw,” the Ormoc City Mayor said.
Richard mentioned that he knew that the writer-director aired his apology already but he said that Sharon has the right to file a case.
“That is her right kung ano ang gusto niyang ikaso. Pero parang nakita kong humingi na yata siya ng paumanhin, well it’s her right.”
Sharon trended on Twitter in the past with netizens tagging her as a “patolera” amidst her issues. The actress went on hiatus on social media but came back shortly after.
