Actress Melissa Ricks responded to a basher who body-shamed her saying that she was fat and that she has an ‘elephant figure.’
The actress posted on her Instagram account a short clip of herself showing her new activewear for a shop that she was promoting.
While the actress wanted to show how confident she was in her own body, a netizen decided to criticize her body size.

“Trying new activewear for @pyrowear.ph,” Melissa said.
She even thanked a shop that offers food supplements for losing weight.
“Thanks @gmaxketo for my extra burn! They are on sale! 35% off plus Use code Melissaketo for additional 10% off!” she added.
But a netizen bashed her saying that the actress has really let herself go.
“Ano [nangyari] sau peg,” the basher said.
Melissa defended herself and explained that she had a kid that’s why she became fat.
“tumaba at nag kaanak. Un po ang peg👍👍👍,” the actress said.
The actress wanted to let the people know that there is nothing wrong with being fat. It is a normal thing for people to get fat when they already have a kid. Melissa wanted to say that what’s important is that she remains confident with her own body.
The basher was not yet satisfied with her comment because she also likened Melissa to an elephant.
“Hnd bayay parang elepante kna melesa😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😃😃,” the basher said.
Melissa did not allow the offensive comment to get to her and just answered by saying that she doesn’t care if people compare her body to an elephant, as long as the elephant is beautiful.
“hayaan mo na. Maganda naman un elepante😉😉😉,” the actress wrote.
Melissa set a good example on how to deal with a negative comment. She did not respond angrily but instead, she calmly defended and explained herself.
The actress has been working out and actively posting about her weight loss journey on her Instagram account.
She was glad that she was able to keep a healthy and fit body with the help of her training coach who provides her a training program that is well-suited for her body and capabilities.

The actress recently defended her former onscreen partner Matt Evans when the actor was reportedly arrested over a ‘child support’ issue.
She said that Matt is a good person who treats everybody around him with kindness and she believes that her former love team partner will overcome this trial because of his good heart.
“People with good hearts can never be put down,” she wrote.
“Five years of being part of MATTMEL (their love team’s name). Spending almost every day with you dahil sa work na halos di na tayo natutulog. I know how much of a good person you are, not only to me but to everyone around you. You have a good heart, Matt. That is a fact,” she added.
