In a Facebook post, former journalist Jay Sonza claimed that his son called him about receiving a notice from Sky Cable advising them that they will be ceasing operations by August 31, 2020.
“My son called this morning to tell me that Sky Cable sent a notice informing them that their operation will end today.
“They need to get a new internet service provider for their On Line classes.”
He noted that Sky Cable customers will need to find a new internet service provider for online classes. Sonza listed choices such as PLDT, Smart, Globe, Converge, and DITO.
Sky Cable has released a statement debunking Sonza’s claims, and asking the public to refrain from sharing the fake news.

Sonza has a history of posting false information and a known peddler of fake news.
He has posted about the history of ABS-CBN and the network’s executives. ABS-CBN employees and netizens have all debunked the post, and dubbed Sonza as “Fake News King.”
He has also made false claims about ABS-CBN’s Pantawid Pag-Ibig Program to which the Governor of Malolos, Governor Daniel R. Fernando disproved by posting a photo of the actual donations.
Sonza also claimed that CNN Philippines had a 24 hour shut down due to one of their staff being COVID-19 positive which CNN Philippines clarified that it wasn’t one of their staff who tested positive for COVID-19 but rather someone from the Worldwide Corporate Center on Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong.
