Actor-musician Kean Cipriano shared his frustration over a scientist’s statement regarding the washed-out dolomite sand in Manila Bay.
In a tweet, Kean said he felt disappointed with the statement of Dr. Laura David saying that if ever the white sand in Manila Bay will be washed out then it will just be a lesson learned for the government.
Kean added that the 350 million budget for the dolomite project could have helped many families during this pandemic instead of just being washed out to the sea.
That’s why he asked everyone to vote in 2022 because it will be an important vote for the country.
“350Million worth of ‘lesson learned’ in the middle of a pandemic. Dami sanang natulungan na pamilya sa budget na yon. Kaya sa 2022, Boboto ako. Ikaw din ha. Sobrang halaga ng boto mo. “

Kean’s tweet was in reaction to Dr. Laura David’s statement regarding the washing out of dolomite sand at the Manila Bay.
In an interview with Karen Davila on ANC, UP Marine Science Institute Director Dr. Laura David said it will just be a lesson learned if the dolomite sand dumped on the Manila Bay beach will be washed out by typhoons.
“I think if that happens, then it will just be [a] lesson learned. We move forward, we no longer try to upkeep it if it gets washed out by a super typhoon because we do know that super typhoons happen,” said Dr. David.
“So if it survives a super typhoon, then perhaps we can maintain it but if it does not survive a super typhoon, then there’s no need to keep maintaining it. We just let it go and we learn from that lesson,” she added.
The Manila Bay dolomite beach project has been widely criticized by netizens, different cause-oriented groups, and even Filipino scientists for being ill-timed. Critics have been pointing out the government’s wrong priorities during this time of the pandemic.
