Kapuso host-comedian Ai-Ai delas Alas confirmed that her painting by the late former President Cory Aquino is now in an auction at the Leon Gallery in Makati.
In a PEP article, Ai-Ai said that the painting which was titled “Please Help Me” is already under the possession of her friend Bert.
Ai-Ai revealed that she gave the painting to Bert during the time when she moved to their new house in Quezon City.
“Ibinigay ko kay Bert ang painting three years ago. Yun ang time na nagbawas ako ng mga gamit dahil lumipat kami sa bagong bahay ko sa Quezon City,” said Ai-Ai.
The painting which measures 36 cm x 46 m was given to her by Kris Aquino when they were still close friends.
Meanwhile, Ai-Ai said that Bert informed her about the auction.
According to her, it was Bert’s grandchild who brought the painting to the Leon Gallery as a way of getting funds to help the victims of the recent typhoons that heavily damaged several parts of the country.
Ai-Ai and Kris used to be close friends prior to their rift. The two worked together in the Kapamilya reality talent competition Pilipinas Got Talent and also shared the endorsement of Maggi Magic Sarap.
However, their feud started when Kris failed to personally go to the wake of Ai-Ai’s mother. Ai-Ai was allegedly hurt and offended when Kris only sent flowers and greetings considering their closeness back then.
The two, however, had an informal reconciliation at the wedding of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera but as what Ai-ai said although she has already forgiven Kris, they cannot go back to their previous closeness.
