Several Kapamilya celebrities have taken to Twitter to air their sentiments about the housemate who previously favored the shutdown of ABS-CBN.

In the New Year episode of PBB Connect, housemate Russu admitted that he once joined the tide of netizens saying #YestoABSCBN shutdown.

In the confession room, Russu confessed to big brother about his post and apologized for now knowing better. He said he didn’t realize at that time the gravity of his post which cost so many jobs.

“Alam ko po Kuya na nasaktan po kayo na minsan po isa rin ako sa mga sumang-ayon sa pagpapasara ng iyong tahanan. Nung mga panahong hindi ko pa alam ‘yung mga nangyayari, ‘yung mga totoong nangyayari po sa likod ng mga nakikita ko po, Kuya. I’m sorry po Kuya kung nasaktan ko po kayo at ‘yung pamilya po ng ABS-CBN,” Russu said.

ABS-CBN was closed down on free TV after the Cayetano-led Congress voted to deny the ABS-CBN franchise application despite testimonies from different government agencies.

Meanwhile, Kapamilya stars can’t help but share their sentiments about Russu on social media.

In his tweet, Robi Domingo said that he respects Russu and his family.

Like what he said during the program gap, Robi faulted the broken system of the country which led people like Russu to commit such mistakes. But he added that there’s still hope.

“I just want to give my utmost respect to Russu’s family, most esp his kuya, whom I got to talk to. We have to admit that something is wrong with the system… but it also gives us that opportunity to learn from each other and grow. Remember, there is always hope in humanity.”

Former Kapamilya reporter Kevin Manalo meanwhile maintained that Russu should be evicted but he believes that Russu can be instrumental in making other people like him understand his realization and also change their views.

“Realization is a step, but words aren‘t enough without action. Leave the house, change starts in your real home, in your community. Make them understand what you realized. BBE pa rin.”

Juan Miguel Severo also shared the same sentiment saying let Russu redeem himself outside of the PBB house.

“Oh, he’s changed? Good. That should be enough of a prize. Evict him and let him redeem himself where it counts: outside.”

Kapamilya director John Lapus meanwhile was furious in his tweet saying he was one of those who lose their jobs because of the franchise denial.

“Na Mocha! Nawalan kami ng trabaho! Gago!”

Nikki Valdez on the other hand was happy to share that her first vote to evict was successful.

During PBB’s 2nd eviction night, Sunday, January 3, Russu became the second evictee of the latest season of Pinoy Big Brother.

Russu got the lowest combined Votes to Save and Votes to Evict resulting in his eviction from the Pinoy Big Brother house.
