In the recent interview for Bida Star Gandang Naturally Fresh Hosts, KarJon (Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza) and AshTan (Ashley Del Mundo and Tan Roncal) reacted to people comparing them with other love teams.
Ashley and Tan said they don’t see it as a competition, highlighting that both love teams have different strengths.
“For me, I don’t really see a competition kasi iba’t ibang strength kami. We’re unique naman in different ways,” said Ashley.
“We don’t feel naman na (may) competition. Like tapos sa ibang love team mga friends naman namin,” said Tan.
Karina and Aljon said they feel flattered about getting compared to LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), and JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre). However, they want to build their paths in showbiz.
“Kathniel, LizQuen or ano man love team na sobrang bigatin, every time na nababasa namin sobrang flattered kami tsaka natutuwa, pero ‘di namin sya pinapasok sa ulo namin as much as possible. Tina-try namin na gumawa kami ng sarili naming path. Sa tingin naman namin we are doing well,” said Aljon.
“To be compared with KathNiel, LizQuen, JaDine, and the likes grabe, grabe yung saya din namin na nakikita nila na malaki ‘yung future para sa amin. Pero, tulad nga ng sabi ni Aljon, we want to be different in this industry,” said Karina.

KarJon became a love team in 2018 when fans of the reality TV show saw the chemistry between the two while inside the PBB house.
While for AshTan, viewers did see their closeness inside the PBB house. However, it wasn’t until they got to the outside world that they became a love team.
