Saint K X ET are a hip-hop duo with a difference. Born out of Nottingham in the heart of the UK, the group was born out of two friends who met each other in their school days and reconciled and have always stayed in touch since.
After an inspirational trip to Malta, ‘Saint K’ came back fully refreshed and reached out to ‘ET’ with a notion to finally record and release some music as a pair. The result has been hugely potent, with their debut release ‘Take It Slow’ amassing a lot of attention, only spurring the duo further to create, which led to their sophomore single ‘Made Us’.
A unique offering, the track reflects on that trip to Malta, and ‘ET’ introduces a soft, yet powerful vocal. The production is minimalistic yet effective, with an RnB beat is a constant throughout the track. Their songwriting as a duo comes to the forefront, with ‘ET’ catching a melody with ease, working in harmony with ‘EH’’s rapping. An unerring presence portraying confidence and a kind of finesse, the combination of the pair’s contrasting styles provides clever punchlines and fresh beats that we could all get used to.
‘Made Us’ tells the story of how ‘Saint K’ living in a completely different surrounding in Malta, changed his whole perspective and outlook on life and how it in turn, made him an artist. A personal anecdote that shines through in more ways than one, ‘Saint K’ arrived back in the UK in just January 2020, and the pair then made it their aim to finally make their mark. Already favourites on BBC Introducing East Midlands’ renowned DJ Dean Jackson, it is clear that there is much more to come from Saint K X ET in 2021.
