Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza fans, popularly known as AlDub Nation or ADN, made a call to boycott Maine’s Kapuso show Daddy’s Gurl as well as the show’s producers.
M-ZET Productions and APT Entertainment produce the sitcom that Mendoza stars in with Vic Sotto.
AlDub fans wanted to boycott the said show and the production companies because of Maine’s previous episode with his boyfriend Arjo Atayde in Daddy’s Gurl.
The fans didn’t support the couple’s screentime as they still try to push Maine and Alden’s loveteam.
AlDub fans went beyond in calling for a boycott on any related production of M-ZET and APT. Vic Sotto owns M-ZET and Tony Tuviera for APT. Even the daily noontime show Eat Bulaga, where Sotto is a mainstay–is also a target for the AlDub boycott.
The hashtag #TBADNBoycottMZETxAPT16 on March 23 via Twitter did use by the AlDub Nation. Fans give a 16-day boycott to the shows and the two production companies.
The comments encourage people to stop watching the shows of MZET and APT.

Meanwhile, Daddy’s Girl director Chris Martinez posted his reaction to the boycott issue.
One Netizen wrote that Martinez is scared of the ‘unhappy’ fans boycotting the show. The director said that he’s not scared and simply busy.
“Hindi po ako takot. Busy lang. Sayang oras,” he said.
“Huwag mong isipin na kaya ka blinock kasi nakakatakot ka. Kaya ka nablock kasi bastos at istorbo ka.”

The director also replied to a Netizen, who mocked the ratings of Daddy’s Gurl.
“Hindi na po ako makikipag asaran sa inyo. Nagawa nyo na po ang gusto nyong gawin. Kami po ay magmo move on na para harapin na ang mga bagong gawain. Sana makapag move on na rin kayo,” Direk Martinez wrote.
