The collaboration between ABS-CBN and TV5 is proving to be a great decision if one has to look at the latest ratings.
Following the simulcast of Kapamilya primetime teleseryes on ABS-CBN cable and digital platforms, A2Z and TV5, their ratings show a big spike that poses threat to GMA Network’s current hold on the rating board.
Based on the latest numbers from AGB Nielsen covering Friday, March 12, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano made a surge in ratings scoring almost double before the TV5 deal.
FPJAP scored 14.7% combined ratings, an increase of about 7% from its previous average of 6% to 7%. Same with Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, which registered 10.4% from the previous average of 4% to 6%.
Rating contribution from TV5 telecast stands at 9.6% for FPJAP and 5.1% for ASIAA, which did help a lot.
ABS-CBN shows’ slow climb in numbers, does GMA Network somehow feel the threat in the rating game?
While they will not admit it directly, GMA Network’s move somehow gave the clue with the premiere of its latest teledrama First Yaya on several channels.
First Yaya which premiered on Monday, March 15 followed ABS-CBN’s playbook of simulcast airing. The series did not only air on GMA Network’s main channel 7 but also simulcast over GTV and Heart of Asia Channel.
Meanwhile, First Yaya’s premiere on Monday was a success as it registered combined ratings of 23% beating FPJAP’s combined ratings of 8.9%.
