Init sa Magdamag Creative Manager Director Henry Quitain, Director Raymund Ocampo, and Director Ian Lorendos shared their reactions to the canned filming of the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye.
In the media conference for the upcoming ABS-CBN Star Creatives teleserye, Quitain, Ocampo, and Lorendos shared their experiences and reaction amid the locked-in filming of Init Sa Magdamag and its canned format.
Quitain first described that it was his first time completing a canned teleserye. He also added that the series was more than a year in the making.
“So, more than a year in the making itong teleserye na ito.”
“At dahil nagpandemic tayo, nagkaroon kami ng mahabang oras ang creative team para isiksik talaga yung kwento at matapos yung kwento. So first-time na-eere tayo na tapos ‘yung kwento,” said Quitain.
Now, despite the changes brought upon by the new normal, Director Quitain assured the audience that the adjustments on set did not affect the narrative of the teleserye.
“Hindi naman sya naka-affect sa narrative at napakahuhusay ng mga director natin na nagawan talaga nila ng paraan na hindi ma-compromise ‘yung ganda ng kwento at pinaganda pa lalo nila,” Quitain assured.
Director Ocampo also highlighted he felt excited filming a canned teleserye for the first time.
“First time kong makagawa ng ganito na nakabuo ng isang soap, isang series na hindi pa sya napapalabas. So, exciting, kakaiba,” said Ocampo.
Director Lorendos pointed out the advantage of the locked-in filming for the teleserye, saying that the setting helped them focus on the story.
“Siguro ‘yun ‘yung biggest advantage for us is yung nagkaroon kami ng concentration na tungkol sa kwento,” said Lorendos.
Finally, Director Quitain says their teleserye aims to impart the message of what a person can do for the sake of love.
“Well, aside from pagiinitin talaga ang ating mga viewing nights, pero, it’s actually what one person will do for love,” said Quitain.
Despite the directors and showrunners experiencing canned filming for the first time, ABS-CBN has undergone completing production before free TV airing with the 2009 romantic comedy teleserye, The Wedding.
Hottest Kapamilya stars Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion, and JM de Guzman top-bills the highly anticipated ABS-CBN Star Creatives series, Init Sa Magdamag.
