Some celebrities may have not known their biological parents. However, the affection that they missed out on was filled in by their adoptive parents.
Here are some celebrities who were adopted:
Jennylyn Mercado
Kapuso singer-actress Jennylyn Mercado was among the few who was abandoned by her parents. In fact, she was as young as six months old when her adoptive mother, Mommy Lydia, a distant relative of Jennylyn’s parents, single-handedly raised her.
But of course, there is always a rainbow after the rain. The actress has finally reconciled with her parents Noli Pineda and Jinkee, on separate occasions.
Angelica Panganiban
Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban always felt different growing up, like her parents were not the real ones. And in 2010, she confirmed her gut-feeling that she was indeed, adopted.
However, though she found out that she had adopted parents growing up, Angelica never felt unloved. Unfortunately, the actress discovered that her biological matter passed away in Singapore back in 2008. Nevertheless, 2 years later, she met her father, American Mark Chalson.
Matet de Leon and Lotlot de Leon
The sisters were actually adopted by former celebrity couple Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor. Other than the two, they also had two adopted siblings, Kiko and Kenneth.
Meanwhile, Lotlot reconciled with her parents, Eva Rodriguez and Donald Olson.
Angeline Quinto
The singer was adopted by her biological father’s aunt, Sylvia Quinto. In 2013, her dad Pop Quiros passed away. But still, she got the chance to meet her mother, Rosemarie Mabao. Back in 2012, her two moms appeared after her performance in ABS-CBN’s ‘ASAP NATIN ‘TO‘.
Vicki Belo
A famous dermatologist, Vicki was raised by Enrique Belo and her biological mother’s sister, Nena Gonzales as an only child.
Her real parents were Augusto Cancio and Victoria Gonzales.
Grace Poe
Senator Grace Poe is certainly an adopted daughter of celebrity couple Susan Roces and the late actor Fernando Poe Jr.
But before being adopted by the celebrities, she first got fostered by Sayong Militar in 1968 then haciendera Tessie Ledesma Valencia.
Ai-Ai delas Alas
Comedienne and blockbuster actress Ai-Ai had a tough childhood. She was opted for adoption by her biological parents Rosendo delas Alas and Gregoria Hernandez due to poverty as well as their separation.
She was then raised by her unmarried aunt, Justa delas Alas who did not keep Ai-Ai being adopted, a secret.
Nicole Quizon
Although she was an adopted child of the late Comedy King, Dolphy Quizon, Nicole was the only legal daughter of his. Dolphy adopted her since she was a baby and undergone a legal process to make her legitimate.
Mark Herras
When Mark was barely five years old, he and his mom were abandoned by his father. Mark was then fostered by his gay parents Herminigildo “Papa Pim” Santos and Daddy Jun Herras. Sadly, both have passed in 2016 and 2014, respectively. Nevertheless, the actor-dancer admitted that he was never ashamed that he grew up in a gay family.
Jobert Austria
During an interview, Jobert Austria’s mother also revealed that she was the one who had her son adopted right after giving birth. It made Austria blame his mom for the decision.
