GMA Network’s Heartful Café has finished taping its entire show but lead actor David Licauco doesn’t want it to end.
In an interview with Pep.ph on May 13, the teleserye’s stars, Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco were put in a hot seat with the most cliché question asked among loveteams: will they become a real thing?
In Licauco’s case, there is indeed a chance but the decision rests upon San Jose.
“Depende rin kay Julie eh. Pero may possibility naman. Okay naman si Julie, type ko naman. Hindi ko pa naman sobrang kilala si Julie eh. Kumabaga yung compatability eh hindi pa naman talagang alam eh. So then let’s see di ba?”, said the actor.
San Jose also agrees that there is indeed a chance. In fact, she is enjoying the company of her leading man in Heartful Café. As her character Heart believes, starting out as friends is a good way to establish a blossoming relationship.
“Hindi ko alam isasagot pero ewan ko, it takes two to tango. So for me, we are enjoying each other’s company naman and we’re good friends. Katulad ng sinasabi ni Heart, ang good friendship ang pinaka magandang foundation ng isang relationship. So right now, we’re good friends and we’re comfortable with each other. And yeah, may possibility naman,” she said.
Unfortunately, the show has four more weeks until it reaches its conclusion. But Licauco is hoping that the Network will extend the teleserye for him to be able to know San Jose even more.
“Dapat ma-extend yung heartful cafe,” blurted Licauco.
Meanwhile, the show’s fans are also clamoring for the Network to extend it. Over Twitter, several Netizens are urging the Kapuso Network to produce a continuation of Heartful Café.

It can be recalled that Heartful Café is the first tandem of Licauco and San Jose. But with the show’s consistency throughout its run, being one of the top shows according to the AGB Nilsen NUTAM survey, there will be a possibility that their pairing will not end with this TV series.
Heartful Café, based on the AGB Nilsen NUTAM survey, has remained the top 3 show of the Kapuso Network, with a rating of 13.6%, 12.9%, 14.1%, and 13% for the week of May 10 to 13.
