Klarisse De Guzman’s hobby in imitating singers led her to be part of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ third season

Although she took the chance, she said she was not expecting to receive a spot as one of the celebrity finalists of Your Face Sounds Familiar.

Singer Klarisse De Guzman reckoned how her hobby of imitating singers led her to a spot in Your Face Sounds Familiar season 3.

In an interview, De Guzman said she considers her talent in imitating singers as a mere hobby or “joke-joke.”

“Before po kasi like yung mga ginagawa ko before, joke-joke lang po talaga s’ya eh. Parang, like sa aming mga singers po mahilig kaming mag-ganon. S’yempre kilala namin yung iba’t-ibang mga singers, alam namin kung paano kumanta, gagayahin namin, so nagiging joke-joke lang sya.”

She reckoned how her appearance on It’s Showtime, introduced her to Your Face Sounds Familiar’s producer.

“Joining Your Face po, nagkataon lang po talaga na nag-Hide and Sing ako sa Showtime.

“And then, si Miss Lani po yung producer din po ng Your Face, parang casually tinanong n’ya lang po ako backstage, ‘Gusto mo mag-Your Face?’ Parang, ‘mag-send ka ng video.’ Audition po.'”

Although she took the chance, she said she was not expecting to receive a spot as one of the celebrity finalists of Your Face Sounds Familiar.

“Sabi ko, “Sige nga try ko. Tapos hindi ko ini-expect na mapipili din po pala ako sa final casting.

“Kasi, sobrang dami rin po talagang celebrities na nag-try, nag-audition to be part of Your Face. And s’yempre, maging part ka lang nung eight performers sobrang thankful na po ako dun.”

De Guzman bagged the Grand Winner title for ABS-CBN’s Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3 after receiving the highest score in the Grand Showdown with her performance as Patti LaBelle. She received a 90 percent score based on the combined accumulated scores and public votes.

After weeks of competing, she went home with a trophy, P1 million prize money, and a brand new house and lot from Lessandra.
