Alonzo is the award-winning actress that inked a contract with the Network.
Rumors of her transfer to the network first started when she was set to star in a film with Kapuso actor Alden Richards titled A Moment to Remember.
The film is a Philippine adaptation of the 2001 Japanese drama Pure Soul. Three major movie outfits–Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and APT Entertainment will produce it.
GMA Network board of director Annette Gozon-Valdes also admitted that they negotiated with Alonzo to join the Kapuso network.

Before her transfer to the GMA Network, Alonzo was a freelance artist after she left ABS-CBN’s Star Magic.
The 33-year-old actress was under the talent management agency for about two decades before she decided to leave in November 2020.
Alonzo was a part of Star Magic’s Batch 10 in 2001 along with her batchmates Dennis Trillo, Alfred Vargas, Nadine Samonte, TJ Trinidad, and Karel Marquez. She is one of ABS-CBN’s A-listers, a distinction for few Kapamilya artists after garnering box-office hits or top-rating shows.
She starred in several Filipino films such as One More Chance (2007), The Mistress (2012), Four Sisters and a Wedding (2013), A Second Chance (2015), and Unbreakable (2019).
Throughout her career, she won major acting awards like Film Actress of the Year for her film Miss You like Crazy (2011), Box Office Queen for the film The Mistress (2013), Phenomenal Box-Office Star of 2016, and Movie Actress of the Year for the film A Second Chance (2016), and Best Actress for her film The Love Affair (2016).
