ABS-CBN Film Restoration delivers another compelling family-drama to today’s audiences with the premiere of the digitally restored and remastered version of “Way Back Home,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, in the latest edition of Sagip Pelikula Festival on KTX.ph starting September 14 (Tuesday).

With its story conceptualized by Anna Karenina L. Ramos, Dang Bagas, Vanessa R. Valdez, and directed by veteran filmmaker Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Star Cinema’s 2011 well-regarded film brings the story of long-lost sisters Joanna and Jessica Santiago (Kathryn and Julia).

Jessica lives a life full of pain and guilt after losing her sister years back, trying to fill the emptiness felt by her mother, Amy (Agot Isidro), who continuously longs for Joanna’s return. On the other hand, unaware of her true past, Joanna lived simply in a humble fisherfolk family as Ana Bartolome.

Their lives then intertwine in a fateful encounter when the sisters compete against one another in a swimming competition, with Amy finally finding out that Ana is their lost daughter, Joanna. As Ana reunites with her biological family, Jessica’s feeling of loneliness worsens day by day, with their family’s attention turning towards her sister, causing a rift between the two.

Despite the tension between Ana and Jessica, will the two find their way back home into each other’s hearts and live together as a happy family?

Starring alongside Kathryn and Julia are Agot Isidro, Lotlot de Leon, Tonton Gutierrez, Sam Concepcion, Enrique Gil, Bella Flores, Ahron Villena, Jairus Aquino, and Clarence Delgado.

Invite the whole family for a heartwarming experience in the premiere anew of “Way Back Home” beginning September 14 at 7:30 PM on the Sagip Pelikula Festival on KTX, with its screenwriter Vanessa Valdez and director Jerry Lopez Sineneng sharing their stories in making the film during its preshow before each screening. Tickets are now available at https://bit.ly/WBHPremiere for only P150.

Apart from “Way Back Home,” Sagip Pelikula Festival has more restored classics in store for today’s audiences, including “Flames: The Movie,” “And I Love You So,” “Soltera,” “Paano Kita Iibigin,” “One More Chance,” “Miss You Like Crazy,” “A Love Story,” “Ang Pulubi at ang Prinsesa,” and “Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang?” on KTX starting September 15 (Wednesday).

ABS-CBN Film Restoration recently celebrated its tenth year of restoring and remastering films from directors and writers of note for today’s viewers to appreciate through its Sagip Pelikula initiative. These efforts have earned multiple recognitions from award-giving bodies worldwide, including the prestigious Gold Quill Award given by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Gawad Pedro Bucaneg from Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL).
