During the GMA Artist contract signing event held at EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City on Friday, October 15, Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards said he is looking forward to taking on villain roles in his future projects.
Throughout his career, Richards has been known for doing protagonist roles in various series and movies.
Some of his notable works include: Tween Hearts, One True Love, Carmela, Imagine You and Me, Victor Magtanggol, Hello, Love, Goodbye, and The Gift.
The actor earned more admiration from fans for his portrayal of Luisito “Louie” Asuncion in the romance series The World Between Us.
After staying for more than a decade in GMA Network, the actor said that he is currently experimenting with taking other roles and projects.
“Yes, actually sa ngayon, I’m more experimentative on different projects as of now. Siguro leaning towards creating projects like acting pieces na pwede nating ipadala sa international award winning bodies and also to be able to experience something new din,” Richards shared.
To further improve himself, the actor would like to portray edgy roles in his future projects.
“Kasi parang for the past ten years lagi tayong good boy, ngayon were gonna go a bit edgy naman. I think that’s one of my improvements na gagawin ko sa sarili ko.
“Medyo mag-risk pa tayo ng konti. Para hindi naman tayo boring, hindi naman tayo boring panoorin. So I think now is the time since hindi na rin ako bumabata. Parang yun yung isa sa mga bagay na gusto kong magawa sa ngayon,” he explained.
After doing modeling stints, Richards started his TV career when he auditioned for an acting role on the GMA Network’s 2011 afternoon soap, Alakdana.
He passed the audition and played the role of Joma. In Alakdana, he was paired with the lead actress Louise delos Reyes back then.
