As he moves to GMA Network, ABS-CBN bids farewell to Kim Atienza

During ABS-CBN’s battle for a new franchise, he bravely stood by the Network and assured that he will not leave the Network until its last breath. However, Atienza broke his pledge to ABS-CBN.

Despite his shocking decision of shifting to GMA network, ABS-CBN still gives Kim Atienza a dignified farewell.

October 1 marks the last day of Kim Atienza on TV Patrol. ABS-CBN officially bids farewell to the seasoned broadcaster journalist.

Atienza is ready to move to GMA network that offered him several programs in exchange for his decision to leave the Kapamilya network.

He is expected to be part of three Kapuso shows; an entertainment trivia show before 24 Oras; Mars Pa More; and substitute for Mang Tani for 24 Oras weather reports.

As he moves to GMA Network, Atienza got flooded with support and love from his colleagues in the comment section of his Instagram post.

Gretchen Fullido, a fellow TV Patrol news correspondent, and Angel Locsin expressed their love for Kuya Kim.

Karen Davila sent her best wishes for Atienza for his future endeavors, “Awwww 🥲 Love you Kim always! And be blessed wherever you go 🤍”

Korina Sanchez also commented, “Many good things must end. But many other good things never do.”

Dyan Castillejo and Pinky Webb also expressed support for Kuya Kim.

It’s Showtime hosts Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jugs Jugueta, and Billy Crawford (former host of the noontime show), showed some love for their ‘ninong.’

Donita Rose prays that Kuya Kim will be guided by God as he embarks on his new journey as a Kapuso.

“May the Lord comfort you as you begin a new journey. You have maximised all the potentials given to you and you have blessed so many with your life. Stand tall. You will be missed here but many will look forward to Gods perfect plan up ahead as well.”

Mikey Bustos also wished Kuya Kim all the best as he moves to GMA Network.

“My heart is feeling so many emotions for you, Kuya Kim. I know God has chosen this for you! Best of luck on this new journey! ❤️🙏”

Other celebrities who showed support for Atienza are Gretchen Ho, Dominic Roque, DJ Chacha, Ogie Alcasid, Bubbles Paraiso, Carmen Soo, Kakai Bautista, and Amy Perez.

Atienza stayed in ABS-CBN for 16 years. He started being part of TV Patrol in 2005 and eventually became the show’s weather presenter replacing the late Ernie Baron.

He also hosted his educational show Matanglawin from 2008 to 2020.

Atienza also became part of the noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ from 2009 to 2016 and returned in 2019 until 2020.
