Gerald Anderson shares how he made chemistry with Gigi De Lana on their new series

During the unveiling event of ABS-CBN and iQiyi’s Filipino Originals, Anderson said he made sure that De Lana was comfortable on set when they filmed Hello Heart.

On November 23, Gerald Anderson shared how he made chemistry with Gigi De Lana on their new series, Hello Heart.

During the unveiling event of ABS-CBN and iQiyi’s Filipino Originals, Anderson said he made sure that De Lana was comfortable on set when they filmed Hello Heart.

“Hindi mo talaga macre-create ‘yan. It’s just, lalo na sa situation ni Gigi, it’s her first time. All you can do bilang partner niya is to make her feel as comfortable as possible. Syempre, we’re in a very high pressured, sensitive, vulnerable environment.”

Anderson then highlighted that the best part of their series is the story.

“The story, number one talaga para sa akin. Alam ng lahat na ang story talaga, hindi ako naniniwala na artista ‘yung magdadala, or this love team, hindi. It has to be the story talaga. Pag maganda ‘yung story, kapag may ibig sabihin siya, kapag may mapupulot na value, at aral ‘yung audience natin, at makaka-relate sila. Job done.”

He described working with De Lana as “fresh.”

“For some reason, it always works pag ganon eh, pag fresh at pag bago ‘yung tandem. It excites me because it’s another challenge bilang artista, bilang actor. And exciting for the fans.”

De Lana said she felt intimidated when she first saw Anderson during their filming of the series.

“Naintimidate ako, sa kanya pero kasi inisip ko noon, bakit ba ako maiintimidate, ipakita ko lang kung sino ako. So, noong nakita ko siya, kaharap ko na siya, ‘hay ang gwapo mo naman.’

“Tsaka sobrang excited ko noon kasi mami-meet ko na ang the one and only, Geralnd Anderson.”

Anderson then shared details about the work environment when they filmed Hello Heart.

“‘Yung production, ‘yung mga nakasama namin is from ABS. At kasama ko rin sila noong last show. So I was very comfortable, parehas kami. Kumbaga para kaming pamilya na doon.

“I think the difference is ‘yung platform, which is in–sinabi sa akin kanina, how many countries, 191 countries. That’s amazing! Lagi naming joke ‘yan sa set na parang international na tayo. Lagi naming ginagawa, ‘o gandahan natin, quality!’ Kailangan quality kasi international levels na.”

As for their series, Hello, Heart premieres on iQiyi on December 15, 8 PM, with a new episode weekly. The series starring De Lana and Anderson will be available in iQiyi’s 191 territories worldwide.
